The O'Neill Surf Academy is operated by West Coast Surfari based at the beautiful Watergate Bay, only a couple miles from the UK's famous surfing town Newquay and Fistral Beach.  

As Cornwall's first Surf School, West Coast Surfari has grown and taken on the role as O'Neill's First & Only Land Based Surfing Academy. In recent years we have grown to become one of the most respected and progressive surfing centres in the UK.

Today, The O'Neill Surf Academy and West Coast Surfari boasts some of the most dedicated surf instructors - who travel the world, fortunate enough to live every inch of the unique lifestyle they promote. Their enthusiasm for the sport they love show through in their coaching - delivering innovative, informative and fun lessons for all ages and abilities.  

Based in Cornwall's popular surf destination of Watergate Bay where nearly 3 miles of golden sands stretches along an unspoilt coastline, and whether the waves match any overseas surfing location. Facing the Atlantic ocean the beach is a magnet for swell - you'll always find waves here at Watergate.  Our amazing facilit provides the perfect base for all your surfing needs - with clasroom and lounge areas, on site food and drink and surfing store you're every need is catered for. Our amazing roving facility means that if we feel that the surf is looking better for you elsewhere along our vast expanse of coastline, we'll take you there!  Our ability to adapt to ever changing surf conditions means that whatever its like on the day, we'll be finding you the perfect waves every time!

We meet daily at our O'Neill Base Camp and Surf Lounge on the ground floor level of the Phoenix, Watergate Bay. We aim to stay here whenever possible but unlike many schools in the area who are stuck in one location, if conditions are unsuitable we don't need to cancel your lesson - we simply use our roving academy to head to the best surf spot locally.
