Here at the O'Neill Surf Academy we believe that whatever you ride, coaching should be available on the same professional level you'd expect to find within any other sport. Whether you surf a longboard, fancy trying it out, or even if you're just wanting to expand your skills on a variety of boards then our Longboard Coaching Clinics and courses are a good place to start!
COURSE OVERVIEW
Do you Surf a Longboard? Or maybe you want to jump on the bandwagon to see what all the fuss is about? Well he's your biggest and best opportunity yet. If you are looking to understand more about this area of surfing or to take your Longboarding to the next level then the O'Neill Surf Academy Longboard Coaching Weekends are the perfect place to start.Over each course and clinic we will cover all areas of Longboarding including: turning, cross stepping, nose riding, generating speed, fitness for surfing, oceanography and surf forecasting, board designs, fin shapes and much more.
We are very fortunate to be based at one of the UK's best Longboarding hotspots - Watergate Bay. This wave is a longboarders heaven as the beach produces quality long rides and gentle waves. With our mobile facility, we're not tied to Watergate and often we get to venture further afield to ensure you get the best waves for your ability whilst you are with us. Whether you have your own board or not, we have a large selection of shop and custom boards for you to try out if you fancy!
Ashleigh Bennetts (O'Neill Surf Academy Owner) is an accomplished Longboarder (ranked 6th in Europe for womens longboarding in 2011) coaches these courses with other visiting guest Longboard instructors. Having travelled to some of the world best Longboarding destinations, and featuring as regular faces on the UK competition scene all our coaches passionate about surfing. With many successful coaching workshops already completed at the academy, due to popular demand we have more dates on offer than ever before.
