Private 1-1 and Small Group Surf Lessons

Private Surf Lessons are available at The O'Neill Surf Academy. With our Professional and experienced coaches and our entirely different approach to teaching these lessons are perfect whether you'd like a completely personalised lesson, you're short of time and would like a quick start to surfing, or you'd just like to do something together as a groups of friends or as a family!

Before your session we'll discuss what youd like to acheive and set your goals so that it suits you perfectly. Our private surf coaching is available daily at Watergate Bay, but can also be arranged at any beach in Cornwall! 

EXCLUSIVE PRIVATE 1-1 SURF COACHING & LESSONS

Spend time with your very own, personal surf coach with our O'Neill 1-1 Private Surf Lessons.

The experience of a Private 1-1 lesson allows us to focus entirely on your surfing. We're able to provide you with more advise and direct feedback, which in turn helps you improve wave upon wave! Ideal if you're looking for a quick fix, or if you have limited time.

SUITABLE FOR: Children aged 6+ - Adult (there is no upper age limit)

ABILITY: Tuition available at all levels, Beginner - Expert

LESSON DURATION: 2.5 hours

COST: £65 

TIMES AVAILABLE: (all times subject to availability) 

  • 9.30am - 12noon
  • 10am - 12.30pm
  • 1.30pm - 4pm
  • 2pm - 4.30pm
  • 4pm - 6.30pm

PRIVATE SMALL GROUP SURF LESSONS

If you've got a group of 2 - 8 people, why not book your own instructor? The perfect lesson if you don't wish to be part of a larger group lesson, or if you'd like to enjoy a more personalised experience for your group.  You'll get the undivided attention of one of our amazing O'Neill coaches, ideal for learning quickly and effectively.

Our Small group lessons are a great way to learn together as a family or group of friends. As with all our lessons, the tuition is tailored to your ability so you'll get the right coaching for your surfing level.

Suitable for all ages and ability of surfer!

COST: £45p.p

What are the benefits of a Private Surf Course? A Private Surf Course allows to provide you with personal surf training either individually or as your own small chosen group. Your instructor gets to spend the entire lesson focusing on your skills and techniques. Many people find they catch more waves and make a lot of progress during these lessons. Ideal if you don't have a lot of time to squeeze in a lesson, or if you are looking to up your skills for the long term!

How many people will be in my lesson? If you book a 1-1, it's just you and your instructor. For our Small Group Lessons it is a group of your choice (family member's, friends, collegues etc) so you can decide who you'd like to join you. We can take a max of 5 people per instructor. If you would like to bring any more then we will provide you with more instructors!

Who will be teaching me? We have both male and female coaches at our Academy. Only our most experienced and highly qualified instructors run our Private Surf Courses. Generally we'll designate you an instructor, but if you'd prefer a male or a female coach just let us know when booking.

Are the Instructors Qualified? It takes a lot of work to become a surf coach, and we are proud that all our coaches are all licensed, hold coaching awards, qualified SLSA/NARS Beach Lifeguards/Surf Coaches with instructing experience under West Coast Surfari at Watergate Bay and are members of Sports Coach UK.

How do I book my Private Surf Course? To book a Private Surf course you'll need to call our office on 01841 520052 where you can speak to our coaches to discuss your individual requirements. This way we can make sure you get the best coach for the job on the day, especially is you require a specialist lesson i.e. shortboard coaching.
