Group Surf Lessons with The O'Neill Surf Academy at Watergate Bay, Newquay, Cornwall
Since venturing out with our first intrepid surfing customers in 1995, we've come a long way! Pioneering and developing new courses for all abilities of surfer year upon year we can truly say our surf courses are better than ever! Whatever you ability - from novice through to competitive surfer we've got it covered.
We have a large selection of courses and lessons available year round at Watergate Bay. Our group surf lessons are held in small groups with a typical instructor:student ratio of 1:6. All group lessons are suitable for individuals, families, groups of friends or any other combination you can think of. We can accept children aged 8+ in these lessons, and there is no upper age limit. Have a browse through some of our most popular group surfing courses below!
O'NEILL INTRO SURF LESSONS (HALF DAY)
Our O'Neill Intro Half Day Surf Lessons give you the perfect opportunity to give surfing a go for the very first time, or brush up on your skills if you already have some surfing experience. The lesson lasts for half a day, and you'll be suprised how much you can achieve in this short space of time! These group lessons are a fun and effective way to learn and improve. Bring some friends with you and make some new ones along the way.
These courses accommodate all levels of surfer - if you're not sure what level you are then you can check our ability guide to ensure you get the right level of instruction. You'll be asked your ability level when booking to ensure you're in a group with people of a similar standard.
TIMES: Our O'Neill Intro Lessons run twice daily at the following times:
- Morning Lesson 9.30am - 12.30pm
- Afternoon Lesson 1.30pm - 4.30pm
O'NEILL FULL DAY ( AND 2 DAY) SURF LESSONS
Our O'Neill Full Day Lessons and 2 Day Courses are the perfect fast-track to surfing success. With either 2 or 4 surfing lessons you'll get plenty of time with our instructors to learn and perfect your surfing techniques. These courses are ideal if you're looking to get beyond the basics if you're starting as a beginner, and are perfect for intermediate/improver level surfers looking to really brush up on their techniques. O'NEILL WEEK SURF COURSE
Join us for a whole week of surfing here at Watergate Bay. There's no better way to get to grips with surfing, or to really improve your skills and techniques than by dedicating some time to and immersing yourself in an experience. Not only will you learn and improve your surfing dramatically, you'll make lots of new friends along the way! With 5 whole days of coaching we'll get plenty of time to teach you everything you need to know, and even explore the realms of video and phot analysis, try some surfboards, learn all about your equipment and explore some of the best beaches along our amazing coastline on our classic surf surfaris.
Whether you're coming on your own, as part of a group or even as a family make your holiday into a real surf trip.
WHEN: Typically, most people choose a mon - fri week long course. We are flexible and can accept any day arrivals, 7 days a week!
TIMES: You'll get 2 sessions per day between 9.30am - 4.30pm
